Meet Crystal Bui

newsroom-trained. Camera-ready. Built for high-stakes stories.

Actress Crystal Bui is an Emmy-nominated former television news reporter with nearly a decade of experience on-camera for NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliates in New York City, Atlanta, Honolulu, and beyond.

That high-stakes background shows up in her acting: Crystal’s present, exacting, and powerful in stillness. She knows how to land a moment in one take, just like she had to do on live primetime television every night, holding ratings and viewers’ attentions.

Her debut film role in Tyler Perry’s Duplicity reached #1 on Amazon Prime Video and was a natural bridge: a news reporter in a high-stakes case grounded by the world she’d actually lived. She’s since costared on Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt, with other roles on major networks slated to premiere in 2026.

Fluent in Vietnamese and a former Junior Olympic competitive swimmer, Crystal brings discipline, adaptability, and quiet intensity to every set. She thrives in storylines built around identity, resilience, and internal conflict.

Since then, she’s trained in on-camera technique at the Margie Haber Studio and continues to work closely with renowned coach Tania Nolan, who also coached Golden Globe nominee Cooper Koch ( Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on Netflix).

Off-screen, Crystal is a global keynote speaker who’s delivered paid talks for Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions, and international organizations including: University of Alabama, Sigma-Aldrich Co., the Asian American Psychological Association, and San Diego State University.

As the founder of Spotlight Communications Group, a global public relations firm, Crystal provides on-camera and media strategy training so clients can show up with clarity, charisma, and command—skills she embodies every time the camera rolls.
